We revisited Newcastle SSP to see how they got on after running virtual competitions using Active. They found that by using a targeted strategy, they could increase buying antibiotics online PESSYP competition figures dramatically for underachieving schools.
How did they do it?
Newcastle SSP used a RAG system to target 10 schools with lower levels of competition involvement.
They worked with SSCo’s and student volunteers to run virtual competitions in schools. They focused on delivering skipping competitions across all three terms, achieving regular competition quotas.
How did Active help?
Active helped in the following ways:
- It removed the expenses that competitive school sports can incur through travel and equipment
- It allowed schools to take part in intra and inter school sports at the same time
- It enabled schools to hold competitions at a time and place that was best for them, which meant that they didn’t have to worry about extra staff
- Skills-based session plans meant that everyone could get involved and raise the participation average for the school
What was the result?
10 of the schools that previously had the lowest PESSYP scores for competition are in the top 10 this year.
